Sarah-Jane Newbery
Qualifications: BA (Hons) History, University
of Surrey
Sarah joined SRA in 2006, primarily to run
the rapidly expanding business. Prior to this, she worked
at The National Archives for nine years, as a Reader Adviser
in the main reading rooms, where she gained an in-depth knowledge
of The National Archives holdings. She also worked as Deployment
and Development Manager for the Reader Services Department
and Business Monitoring Officer in the Chief Executive's
Department. Her research interests include Early Modern Social
History, Local History and Genealogy.
SRA Principal Researchers:
Laura Berry
Qualifications: BA (Hons) History with Spanish BA,
Royal Holloway University of London, Egham, Surrey
Laura joined SRA in 2005. She is the principal
researcher for The History Channel's major new series, Hidden
House Histories. She has also been involved in Who Do You
Think You Are? (BBC1) History Mysteries (BBC2) Not Forgotten
(BBC2) and Family Ties (BBC4.) Laura’s responsibilities
include researching for numerous national newspaper and magazine
articles. Laura has also undertaken the Researchers Survival
Course in May 2006 with Pact.training
Her areas of interest include Modern Social
History, House History, Genealogy and Military History.
Sara Khan
Qualifications: BA (Hons) History,
London School of Economics, MA African / Asian History, School
Of African Studies.
Sara joined SRA in 2006 and has undertaken a wide variety
of research projects, including Who Do You Think You Are?
(BBC)(Series 1-4), So You Think You're Royal (Sky One), as
well as contributing to various other research projects for
The Daily Telegraph, Tracing Your Roots (Radio 4), and has
contributed to several books and publications on all aspects
of genealogy.
Prior to joining SRA,
Sara worked as an in-house researcher at The National Archives.
She enjoys all aspects
of social and religious history, specifically the history
of London.

meet the needs of each project.
