The SRA Ireland team is lead by Dr Julia Hofmann.
Julia holds a BA (Hons) in History, English
and Spanish and an MA (Hons) in Medieval Studies from University
College Dublin and has just completed a DPhil in Medieval
History at The Queen's College, Oxford. In 2005, she joined
the Commentarius Rinuccinianus Project, an international team
of scholars dedicated to the translation and edition of this
vital seventeenth-century source. Although her most recent
research has focused on the local and royal politics of the
barbarian successor kingdoms, particularly Frankish Gaul and
Visigothic Spain, Julia enjoys all aspects of history, from
Egyptian mummies to WWII, with a special penchant for historical
biography from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries AD.
We also have links to expert researchers up
and down the country who are able to access all the major
county archives.
